Come and see a unique example of local georgian architecture
A unique opportunity to tour the Grade I* listed Belmont Hall, and home to Cransley School.
Built in 1755, the Hall was designed by the renowned architect James Gibbs for John Smith Barry. It represents an exceptional example of early Georgian architecture, celebrated for its Palladian influences and ornate plasterwork.
Learn from a superb local historian about the history of this outstanding house, owned by the Leigh family, and get a fascinating glimpse into Georgian life.
Tours are free and limited to small associations and groups only, such as the WI, U3A or local history groups. With a maximum of 16 people permitted, each tour lasts around 2 hours, with refreshments.
Please note that the building is not fully accessible in some areas (stairs, no lifts, uneven floors).
