Overview

Cransley School aims to build its engineering and motorsport extra-curricular opportunities, providing a brand new opportunity for girls and boys to learn new engineering skills, teamwork and organisation, complimenting the educational provision at the School.

The Cransley Speedworks project has two aims:

  • to create and operate a Greenpower Car Racing team, building and running two F24 electric machines in local and national competitions.

  • to compete in the 2025 North West Regional Finals of the F1 in Schools Competition with both an Entry level (Year 9) and Development level (Year 10) team.

Pupils would learn and develop a role which suited them within a team - from Team principal to mechanic, designer or engineer; from marketing to logistics and operations and business enterprise. They might even drive.

Partnerships

Cransley is proud to be in partnership with the brilliant Speedworks Motorsport Team - a team synonymous with motor racing since 2005 - with their HQ and factory based a mile up the road at Thellow Heath Park.

Speedworks are currently competing under Toyota Gazoo Racing UK title in the prestigious pinnacle of domestic motor racing, the British Touring Car Championship, as well as GT sprint and endurance racing across the world.

Christian Dick (Team Principal) and Amy Dick (COO) have long been associated with Cransley and Belmont Hall, after a fabulous Sports Presentation Evening in 2023 and have generously offered to support the school project in its start up with factory space at its HQ in Antrobus, as well as use of its mechanics and tools, and to provide a unique opportunity to see first-hand a professional Motorsport Team in operation.

We have welcomed sponsorship from a particular parent and local businesses, and are delighted to have key partners supporting the Motorsport project as it gets off the ground, such as the RIX Motor Group, PDS eco - a domestic renewable energy service and Legend Print Services.
